Since 1863, the Liberation Hall has been enthroned on the Michelsberg high above the town of Kelheim and commemorates the victorious battles against Napoleon in the wars of liberation from 1813 to 1815. 18 colossal statues crown the buttresses on the exterior of the historic building.
You can easily master the steep ascent to the Liberation Hall with the white and blue miniature train - the Ludwigsbahn. Along the way you will receive interesting information about the mountain, the region and the city.
In addition to the Liberation Hall, Kelheim offers other sights such as the Old Town Hall, the German Court, the Erasmus Tower and the „Donautor“.
